Kindness Is Not A Weakness

There is a misconception that kindness is a soft skill, that makes leaders less focused on winning and robs them of their assertiveness and authority. In our view of leadership, we have allowed our ultra-competitive and sometimes self-serving instincts to blind us. Those supportive skills that truly inspire unity and change are lost in the process.

Kindness Is Your Strength
Kindness is losing its reputation as a weakness. Scientific studies indicate that the most effective way to lead is through kindness. Organizations that value kindness experience considerable and measurable benefits such as less turnover, lower recruitment costs, higher productivity, and happier employees.

Kindness Builds Antifragility

After extended crises and years characterized by uncertainty and radical change, it is kind leadership that is taking center stage. Leaders across the globe who have led with kindness and empathy have given us greater confidence and hope and there are three primary things that are the building blocks of leading with kindness: empathy, authenticity, and consistency.

Kindness Takes Strength
Genuine and authentic kindness takes courage, a commitment to kindness often demands the most difficult decisions. To lead with kindness is to lead with intention. Always choosing kindness takes strength to resist competing temptations. And, the world demands that each of us lead with greater kindness, but first we must be able to free ourselves form our own self-judgment and resentments so that we can give it generously. Imagine what the world would be like if we could all be a bit kinder!
